Episode 112 | Beth Lynch: Intuition, Divine Timing and Choosing Happy

At 32, Beth Lynch woke at 3:15 am from a dream that her mother had died. By morning, the news was reporting an Amtrak train crash, and her mother had been on the train. A year later, a medium told Beth she wasn't using her gifts and abilities. She didn't believe a word of it. Then came a tarot class, a mentor, and a session where she heard herself say "David's here". Beth put down her hairdressing scissors and has been doing readings for more than thirty years.

Now a medium, author, and the founder of Inner Light Teaching, based on Florida's Treasure Coast, Beth joins Melanie Suzanne Wilson to talk about trusting your intuition, knowing when to act and when to "coast and hold still", the signs that led her to motherhood at 40 and back to Florida at 60, and why she wakes up every day and chooses happy.

"I am open to divine possibilities personally and professionally."

"I choose happy."

"I bless it, I set it free."

Beth's suggestion: before you reach for your phone in the morning, take a few slow breaths and say your mantra. Do the same when you put your head on the pillow at night.

"Five minutes is better than no minutes." – Beth Lynch

What if the sign you're waiting for has already tapped you on the shoulder? ✨

So many of us wait for perfect timing before we move. Beth Lynch believes our intuition is speaking much sooner than that, and that our job is to listen, then decide whether it's time to act or time to "coast and hold still".

Beth (@bethlynchmedium444) is a medium, author and founder of Inner Light Teaching. She shares the dream that changed the direction of her life, how she knew it was time to leave hairdressing, becoming a mother at 40, moving back to Florida at 60, and the simple mantra she says every morning: "I choose happy." 💛

For anyone carrying grief, or simply carrying too much worry, this one is for you. 💛

Beth Lynch lost her mother when she was 32. For more than thirty years since, she has held space for people navigating loss, including many parents who have lost children. In this conversation, she talks about the signs that guided her, the moment she knew it was time to change careers, and why she believes we can still feel connected to the people we love, wherever they are.

Beth also shares the everyday practices she leans on: a few slow breaths each morning, "I choose happy", and "I bless it, I set it free" for the worries that keep circling back. She's even offering free meditations for listeners.

If someone in your life is grieving, please share this episode with them.

Most of us wait for certainty before we make a big move. Beth Lynch makes a case for listening sooner.

In her thirties, Beth was a working hairdresser doing readings on the side. One morning she pulled into the salon car park and knew she wasn't meant to be there anymore. She didn't quit that day. She kept her commitments to her clients, and the transition happened gradually and on her terms. More than thirty years later, she runs a practice built on Zoom sessions with clients around the world.

On The Motivate Collective Podcast, Beth and I talked about intuition as a decision-making tool, the difference between acting and "coasting", why asking ten different people for their opinion gives you ten different answers, and how she changed the way she talks to herself by swapping "I'm trying" for "I choose to".

Whatever your beliefs, there is something practical here for anyone weighing a career change or a big decision.

7. REEL AND SHORT CLIP PICKS

============================================================

Search the phrase in Riverside's transcript to find each clip.

Clip 1: Choose happy (45–60 sec) — strongest clip

Search: "so wake up in the morning and say, I choose happy"

End at: "When you say I'm trying, the law of attraction just went"

Hook text: "Stop saying 'I'm trying'"

Clip 2: The morning mantra (20–30 sec)

Search: "That's a nice little mantra"

End at: "Watch what happens."

Hook text: "Write this down. Say it every morning."

Clip 3: "I worry all the time" (45–60 sec)

Search: "Well, I worry all the time"

End at: "I bless it, I set it free."

Hook text: "Every time you say 'I worry all the time'…"

Note: this runs long in full. Cut from "Well, I worry all the time" to "I choose to release from the energy creating my worries", then jump to "I bless it, I set it free."

Clip 4: Five minutes is better than no minutes (30–45 sec)

Search: "when you meditate, you slow your nervous system down"

End at: "five minutes is better than no minutes"

Hook text: "67, and this is her daily non-negotiable"

Add the "not medical advice" note in the caption.

Clip 5: The mantra that changed her marriage (45–60 sec)

Search: "surrendering and saying, Okay, I'm redevoting"

End at: "he didn't even know I was saying that mantra"

Hook text: "The one word that changed her marriage"

Note: contains "damn". Fine for most platforms, but bleep it if you prefer.

Clip 6: The dream (30–45 sec) — use with care

Search: "I woke up from a dream"

End at: "she told me she was all right"

Hook text: "She woke at 3:15 am from a dream about her mother"

Add the content note and Lifeline and Griefline numbers to the caption. Beth tells this story publicly in her own bio, but it's still a bereavement story, so don't open the campaign with it.

Optional: the moment Beth picks up on your grandmother (35:31–37:59) is compelling, but it involves your own family. Only clip it if you're comfortable having it public.

Don't clip these as standalone moments (keep them in context in the full episode):

- "Bitch is crazy" (inside the long answer starting 02:30)

- "Let go, let God" and the comment about God fixing "the crap that's going on in our world" (around 21:00–22:00)

- Atheism as a "cage" and "the law of attraction's stupid" (23:24–24:44)

- Fertility and adoption comments (34:25)

- "Certain chemical things that are being put in systems" (52:39)

- Spirit, personality and addiction recovery (54:58–57:46)

- Anxiety as a response to intuition you're not listening to (around 1:11:00)

8. PRE-PUBLISH CHECKLIST

============================================================

[ ] Confirm this is S7 Ep 112, then replace [EPISODE LINK] and [YOUTUBE LINK] everywhere

[ ] Send the "About Beth Lynch" paragraph to Beth to approve. It's built from her website and published bios: Inner Light Teaching founded 1998, Delphi University graduate, author of Life, Death, and In-Between and Heart & Soul Fitness

[ ] Confirm @bethlynchmedium444, the Facebook and YouTube links and the free meditations page are current, and send the Instagram collab invite

[ ] Decide how much of your own personal material stays public: the on-again, off-again relationship (42:47 and 1:02:19), your grandmother and family background (35:31–37:59), and living in fear after "things had genuinely happened" (1:07:00). If you trim any of it, update the chapters, remove item 8 from the show notes list if needed, and cut the same section from the published transcript

[ ] Decide on "Bitch is crazy" (early in the answer starting 02:30): keep, bleep, or trim. Also note "crap" (about 21:30 and 1:09:00) and "damn" (about 1:09:00)

[ ] Beth uses the words "Indian" and "papoose" when describing a meditation vision (around 30:30). Leave them verbatim in the transcript, but keep them out of promo

[ ] Beth says the Bible verse she saw was in John. The Mary and Elizabeth story she describes is in Luke 1. The transcript keeps her words; don't add a verse reference anywhere in the copy

[ ] Keep the following framed as Beth's beliefs on every platform: meditation and ageing, anxiety as intuition, addiction and spirit, fertility, "chemical things" in systems, and the Nikola Tesla line (a popular attribution that isn't reliably sourced)

[ ] Content note with Lifeline (and Griefline where space allows) present in Squarespace, YouTube, Spotify/Libsyn and all captions

[ ] Trim the pre-roll restart (00:00–00:18) from the edit and the published transcript

Beth Lynch (00:00)

Treasure Coast, Florida. So it's like central Florida, but on the coast.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (00:04)

Nice. We'll dive

Beth Lynch (00:05)

Mm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (00:06)

in and start with the intro. Beth, welcome to The Motivate Collective podcasts. Sorry, I'm starting that again. It's too early. Beth, welcome to The Motivate Collective Podcast.

Beth Lynch (00:18)

Hi. Thank you for having me on.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (00:22)

It's nice to talk with someone who is in Florida. What is it like

Beth Lynch (00:26)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (00:26)

over there at the moment?

Beth Lynch (00:28)

Hot. It's hot. It's in the eighties. Very windy today. We had some rain yesterday, a lot of rain, actually. But today's gorgeous. Today's, this is, these are the reasons you're here in the winter. The winter months for Florida are awesome.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (00:42)

They are. That's so good. Do you

Beth Lynch (00:43)

Yeah. It's less humidity in

the winter, but the summer, I don't mind it, though, 'cause AC and swimming, you just, who cares how hot it is?

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (00:53)

I was like that

up north in Australia. Do you prefer the humidity?

Beth Lynch (01:00)

It doesn't bother me. My hair doesn't like it, but it's not humid today, so it's doing okay. But it, you know, you definitely, you gotta like it if you're gonna be here. You, you know, you, y— you can't, it's just part, it's tropical, you know. So what's Australia like? Isn't that a little tropical? Or is it part where you are?

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (01:24)

There are parts. I'm in Sydney at the moment, which is a bit less tropical. Going up north, I was at the Gold Coast for a while, which is apparently officially subtropical. But

Beth Lynch (01:38)

Mm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (01:40)

pretty much it was what you're describing when it was further up north, up the coast. So even some people might hear about Byron Bay, places like that.

But even some of the coastal spots for a couple of hours north of Sydney, it's still just coastal without the humidity, and some of them get a lot of cold rain. It's very different.

Beth Lynch (02:00)

Okay. Mm-hmm.

That's probably nice.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (02:07)

It can be. I, look, I love the city, I love being near people, I like to connect, but I miss

Beth Lynch (02:13)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (02:14)

that coastal feeling that you're talking about. I love it.

Beth Lynch (02:17)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (02:20)

Okay. Let's dive in with your story that led you to what you do.

Beth Lynch (02:30)

Mm-hmm. I always, you know, back in childhood, I was a very sensitive child. I was, I felt a lot around me. I think all of us feel, but I think when you're, you feel overwhelmed or over-emotional, you tend to go down, you know, that lane with things, and I was that. And then a lot of suppressing in my teens of those emotions, like many teens do.

Sadly. But then, you know, I fast-forward to when I was thirty-two, and I woke up from a dream. And in the dream, I was hearing over an intercom system that my mother was dead. And I could, I remember seeing grey walls and people kind of shuffling by, but I woke up very upset, crying. I was crying in the dream, screaming in the dream. I remember that. And I woke up very shook up, and I remember looking at the clock, and it was 3:15 am.

And somehow I went back to sleep, but I remember, what kind of dream was that, you know? Only to wake in the morning pretty early to get my little nephew off to school and pre-K or something, whatever he was in. Probably might have been daycare. I don't remember. But anyways, and I turned on the news in the car, and it, on the news was that the Amtrak train crashed in the middle of the night, and I knew my mom was on a train.

So that kind of made me go, my God. And, you know, called my sister, headed to her house, because I didn't know, you know, what do we do? You know, and we had to make some phone calls. You have to do things like that. But I, I heard her voice in the car, and she told me she was all right. And that just threw me. Like, what do you mean you're all right? What does that mean? Does that mean you're gone? Why would I hear your voice if you were alive? You know, I'm kind of talking to myself at that moment.

And, you know, obviously it got confirmed that she did pass. She was one of the, I think, out of forty-seven that didn't make it. And, you know, I went through a year of trying to figure, navigate grief, you know, go through it. Everything's the first holiday, the first this, the first that, you know, it's, it's awful. And I understand that when people have to go through it. But a year later, we went to a medium, and

she looked at me and just said, "Young lady, your mother in spirit says you're not using your gifts and abilities, and you're gonna do what I do someday." And I'm like, "Bitch is crazy." That's what I thought. Little did I know my whole world was about to change. But, you know, my mom said a lot of things in that session. We knew it was her. There was no way it couldn't be her. And about a week later, I was in a store, you know, with crystals and incense and books, and

very drawn to a tarot class that I saw. I didn't know much about it. I knew what it was, but I didn't know, understand it. And I decided to venture out and call this beautiful lady, who I mentored with for a couple of years. And she was, her first words were, "I bet you didn't know tarot was a spiritual tool." And I know [check audio: likely "go"], "No, I didn't." I actually was a little, maybe I shouldn't be doing this. She says, "No, dear, it's all how you read it, you know, and you're gonna read it to help people," and da-da-da.

So, anyways, I mentored with her. Little did I know I was really opening that ability, getting connected to symbolisms and metaphors and the, the spiritual aspect of that beautiful gift of the tarot. A lot of people don't understand it, you know, that, but it, it really is a beautiful way to open your third eye, your sixth sense, and trust the things that you get. So that was the opening of it. Now, that was thirty-eight years ago? My God. Well, whatever. Thirty-something years ago. And so after, you know, doing that for a while with her, I started to, I s— remember saw a person in a session and said to the lady, "David's here." And she said, "That's my dead brother." I was like, "Whoa, okay, maybe I am gonna do that" moment, you know. And I basically treated it very sacredly and very naturally. It, it never felt unnatural.

It never felt like I was doing something against my grain. And that, I think, brought a sense of peace to me, but also how I was living my own life started to kind of clear, you know, trust things, but understand things maybe about my past that I didn't understand. And that's where it all kind of, I just surrendered. I said, "Okay." I was a hairdresser. I put down the scissors and just started doing readings, and it's been over thirty years now.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (07:10)

Thirty years. It's, it's a long time. I was going to ask what you were doing before that. Being a hairdresser, you would have still

Beth Lynch (07:17)

Hairdresser.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (07:18)

been very connected with people before then, doing

Beth Lynch (07:21)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (07:22)

this.

Beth Lynch (07:23)

People used to tell me that. These [check audio: possibly "They'd say"], "I don't just come for you to, for my hair, my colour. I, I love your intuition." And I'm like, I wish I listened to it back then. I absolutely do now. But back then, in my twenties, I was not, you know, twenties. I think I stopped doing hair about thirty-four years old. That's when I, I could feel it.

I was doing readings for people on the side. I was doing, juggling both, and less hours at the hair salon, more hours with that. And eventually, one day, I could just feel it. It's like, it's time. And I, and there was a series of events that allowed that to even happen. So yeah, so I

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (08:03)

What was it?

Beth Lynch (08:04)

feel blessed. Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (08:06)

What happened to [check audio: possibly "with"] the series of events allowing it all to happen?

Beth Lynch (08:09)

Well,

I remember pulling up to the salon and feeling like my throat was closing, and I stopped the car, and I'm like, pulled into a parking spot, and like, "I can't breathe. I can't breathe." And I'm like, "This is anxiety, I think." And I looked up, and I just said, "I am not meant to go in there. I am not meant to go in there. I am meant to put my scissors down. I am grateful for every client." I knew I wasn't gonna quit that day.

But it was interesting, because I kind of got my bearings and made that little, you know, I tell people you're, you know, the greatest, one of the, a very powerful book written was the Conversations with God. And I think, you know, whether you call it God, the universe, source, the divine, you call it whatever you want, you know, we're having these conversations in our inner mind all the time. We're talking to something, right? Ourself, our higher self, our, and I think that was part of

that moment where I just knew things were gonna change. And then I went into my salon, and the, there was a j— the owner's husband was a, like, a financial guy, and he just kinda pulled me aside that same day and said, "Listen, I don't think you want to be here anymore. And I know, I know you're, what you're into, and you like that stuff." And obviously, so he actually helped us kind of get organised in that area. And we started,

me and my sister started our own little healing centre, and we did that for a while. And then one thing just led it to the next, you know. And I've been, I've had a couple centres. I've had, I've, now I just work home, and I subcontract out at places, and I Zoom all the time. I mean, that's probably ninety percent of my work is Zoom. So all these sessions

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (09:52)

Okay.

Beth Lynch (09:53)

are done through Zoom.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (09:55)

Nice. The Zoom, did that... I have two main things that I wanted to explore here, because there was the intuition side and the business side. But I'm keen to ask about the Zoom, because you mentioned that. Was that growing more after COVID, or was it done a lot even before then?

Beth Lynch (10:16)

I think it was done a lot, but I did not have to. I did do phone readings back then, way before COVID. I didn't do Zoom. I don't think I even knew what it was. And then when COVID hit, I remembered I was still open. But in the very beginning, I got it. And my son got exposed to it, and then he was a teenager, and then he didn't get it. My husband, who has not the best health,

he never got it, but I got knocked down for three weeks. I mean, I was not good. Yeah, it was just like, just having the flu for three weeks, and it wouldn't go away. I mean, that's what I felt like. And luckily I never got any of the respiratory, so I didn't have to deal with that. I had a, a lot of other symptoms, but not, not, not respiratory. And yeah, it was, it's quite interesting that that was a pivotal point in...

You know, I didn't want to open my office after that. So I just kept it, but just did Zooms. I started doing Zooms. And everybody understood because of what was happening. So nobody said, "I can't do that." You know, we didn't have a choice. Either you're not going to get your session, or we're going to do Zoom. And I saw that it makes no difference. Energy doesn't need a building, you know, spirit doesn't need a building to talk. So it was very natural transition. And

I just remember thinking, why am I not living back in Florida? 'Cause I, at the time, was still in New York, and my family was all in Florida. And because of COVID, I couldn't fly, because I chose not to. You know, and so now I'm upset because I can't see them because I can't fly. Yeah, it was like one thing after the other just kind of kicked it into move back to Florida, because I had lived here for quite a few, twenty years or something, before I moved back to help our mother-in-law, my mother-in-law,

who had passed at that point. Yeah. So we just, we got back here five, it's been over five years now. We're back here. But I love, you know, I love it. I don't like winters, so I don't miss those winners [check audio: likely "winters"] up there. But yeah, that was really... But I still, you know, a lot of my clients up there, but I've clients all over. So through, you know, different groups that I've been connected to. So I feel blessed that I have a, a beautiful range of clients around the, around the globe.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (12:39)

That is so good. How long were you in New York before moving back?

Beth Lynch (12:45)

Ugh, eighteen years it took to get back. But in, my son was only a year when we moved back to f— New York to be with my mother-in-law. And then she passed about a year later. But, you know, there was financial things that came up. There was him in school, even though he travelled with me all the time to visit a few times a year. He, he really, he was born in Florida, but he wasn't raised in Florida, but he never got the Florida out of his soul, I don't think. I mean,

here we are, we're all back here. We all love it.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (13:18)

Feeling that some people are naturally more drawn to either that coastal life, which

Beth Lynch (13:26)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (13:26)

feels quite similar, whether it's where you are, where I am, it's that coastal feeling, or people, some people like the cold and the winter. So

Beth Lynch (13:38)

Yeah.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (13:39)

we're all drawn to one or the other. But there's so much to unpack here, and

the intuition, we'll get to that in a second, because the business side is very relatable. You had a journey that translates even beyond teaching people about spirituality. First of all, you were in your thirties when you had a career change. It's interesting seeing how that unfolded, because having someone say to you, "You don't really want to be here."

So many people have a point where they realise their heart is not in the work that they are doing, and they know they could be doing something else. You're doing a mainstream job. I was going to say normal, but it was a conventional job. And then

Beth Lynch (14:30)

Okay.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (14:33)

shifting to this, it's just like how people go to coaching or, you know, mentoring, whatever it...

How did it feel setting up for a career that was beyond the norm?

Beth Lynch (14:52)

I think it was such a natural, you know, because I did do both for a while. You know, I had to keep food on the table, you know, we had to survive. And so because the transition was so gradual, I never really, it was so exciting. And I knew I was intuitively going into what I was supposed to really do, like the medium said, you know. And, you know, it was interesting, because I always felt,

a young, as a young person, as a teenager, twenty-seven, I always thought I was gonna die at thirty-two. Like, I really had that thought often. Like, I found a safe place for it, so it didn't give me anxiety or anything. But I thought, I'm just, don't feel I'm gonna live past thirty-two. And I mean, I didn't have my son until I was forty, which is an interesting story too. So I didn't have, you know, obviously, you know, I was more single when I was thinking that way, but my mother died when I was thirty-two.

And I remember coming to that realisation one day, going, my God, I don't feel that way anymore. So a part of me did, just like when we lose people who are truly our foundation in our journey, a part of us does die. And, you know, we, we have an essence that's called the soul, or the spirit, I like to call it, that will support us through that and help us. And we have to understand that connection, you know, and a lot of people, I don't think, do.

I always felt I had that. I always did. I had my traditional little area, and then, but I, yet I felt it was so much bigger than that, which confused me for a long time. But I think that was such a natural part of my inner living, even though, if I didn't always show it to anyone else, I, it was a very comfortable direction to be going in, more spiritual. And I realised how much, you know, my work as a hairdresser helped people.

You know, I was a good colourist. I remember. I was pretty... I still do my own.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (16:51)

Good.

Beth Lynch (16:54)

And yeah, so it was, so it wasn't... and I think if you're following your intuition, you know, you really, you really do yourself such a service when those life changes come. Because I feel, when you trust your intuition, something I've always said, most choices,

most challenges will become are because they are choices that weren't made in the divine timing of things. And not that there's a right or wrong time, but there's a flow. And, you know, when I had that moment, and I felt like I shouldn't walk in that door, yet I've had common sense to know I'm going to walk through that door. I have clients, I'm obligated, but something's changing. And then for that conversation to come in, you know, the same day, from my boss, who figured he would be losing me

in the bigger picture of one of, you know, but he, he could feel it. So I think that if we're always open to feel intuitively and not overanalyse that, usually I find in three days you get your answers to a lot of big things. A lot of big things. You can, you can get that piece [check audio: likely "peace"]. And sometimes that answer might be coast for a little bit, but sometimes it's, you know, it's time. Just like it was time for me to have that conversation. Just like when we moved back to Florida, it was,

it was a moment where we'd always wanted to, but we kind of just, you know, "Well, this and that." We had these reasons that would make it too hard. And, and then one day, it's just like, I remember looking at a sign. I was at a TJ Maxx in line, waiting to pay. And the sign said, "Follow your dreams." And I, my dad told me that when I was nineteen or twenty, when I was engaged, but then it wasn't gonna be moving to Florida if I did that. And I remember

telling my dad that that was bothering me. And he said, "You follow your dreams." And a couple months later, I was en route to Florida, called off the wedding, and was en route to Florida. Yeah. I know. I had a friend that lived down here. So it was okay, you know, I wasn't, like, just winging it. But yeah, so it's kind of funny how things will just flow. But I remember seeing that that day, and

seeing the sign, and saying, "I'm getting back to Florida, Daddy." I don't know how... he's in the spirit world. So I was in line, having my little conversation with him. "I'm getting there, following my dreams. This is the year." And I said that to him. And when I got home, my son said, "I want to move." And I go, "Where do you want to move?" And he goes, "Back to Florida." Now, he's, he's twenty at this point, twenty years old. He goes, "I don't think I'm gonna be happy here in five years." And I go, "Well, let's go have a family meeting with Dad, and let's see what..."

And no kidding, within three days, somebody, you know, we had, I had told a couple of realtor friends, "In about six months, I'm gonna really consider putting the house on the market. But if you hear of anyone, just let me know." And one of them came back three days later and said it. She said, "I have somebody who'll buy your house this month." I'm like, "Get out." And we were gone in, within a month. In a month, five weeks, something like that. Yeah, I mean, that, see how things just, i— if you flow like that, they'll flow. And, but you'll also know when you have to coast a little

and hold still.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (20:07)

Interesting.

Beth Lynch (20:07)

So, mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (20:09)

Coast and hold still. That's, that's hard. I, well, for me it is. I'd say I'm curious about whether the intuition can be interpreted regardless of beliefs. I'm wondering if you meet people who feel that intuition who are from all different beliefs.

Beth Lynch (20:34)

Yeah. Intuition is the soul. I don't care what your faith... I mean, you know, I've worked with all different faiths in my work, that some that you wouldn't think would ever go to a medium, but, you know, if they lose a child, or they lose their spouse, or something really rattles them where their, their faith isn't enough, they're, they're, they come to mediums, and, you know, you...

I know I treat my work very sacredly and, and, you know, respectfully. So, because I've been in that position too. I've sat there and needed to know, is my mom and dad okay? You know what I mean? I remember that. You know, are they okay? Where are they? Is there God? I don't know. All those questions. And, but your intuition is part of your higher, you know, if you want to bring it into a science a little, your intuition is part of where I call, you know, the higher frequency aspect of consciousness.

Is a higher vibration, and that is where, what your spirit is. Your spirit is a higher vibration, where your personality is a lower vibration, not a bad one, but it's a lower one. Just like a happy thought is a high vibration, and a sad thought is not a bad thought, but it's a lower vibration. So that's simplifying it a little. But so, intuition flows in the higher vibration. So if you trust your intuition, no matter what your faith is,

you're going to be guided. And you also get out of that... well, sometimes, and this might get somebody upset, but, "Let go, let God." I'm like, you gotta be careful about that. That can put you in a waiting room, you know. If God could really change your life, don't you think he'd be fixing some of the crap that's going on in our world, when it never would have got to this extreme? Anything that's going on, from the things we see with children, animal... I mean, please. I don't even want to label, give it

any energy right now. But I mean, if that, you know, so you've got to be careful when you put yourself in a waiting room, you know, or when people even say, "I'm waiting for my spirit guides to tell me." Trust me, they've already tapped your shoulder enough times. You gotta make the steps, or know it's time to coast. And it's okay to coast. But still be open to the divine possibilities. That's a nice little mantra: "I am open to

divine possibilities personally and professionally." Write that down. Say it every morning. Watch what happens. You're moving energy, you're moving your mental barriers that keep you here into the beautiful blue sky that will show you how open things can be. That's a metaphor, basically, but it, it's true. You don't want to be in the cage. It doesn't matter how beautiful the blue sky is if you're in the cage, you're just looking at it from inside. That's another metaphor.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (23:16)

Page. [check audio: likely "Cage."]

Beth Lynch (23:17)

Like a cage, where boundaries, or certain faiths create, you know, or rigidness, or, you know, beliefs.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (23:24)

Yes.

Beth Lynch (23:24)

A, you know, even atheists. I had somebody I was working with, yeah, the other day, that it was a consultation, free consultation that I offer, and she says, "Well, I'm just gonna tell you, I'm an atheist." And I go, "Well, you gotta believe..." You know, "I don't, I ain't here to prove it." You know, "I'll, I'll create, you know, I'll do a session with you, of course."

And I said, "But I'm not here to prove anything. I'm creating a sacred space for you to have an experience, to feel something bigger than what your little atheistism is bringing you in." That's a cage, you know. Anything that you feel is the only way, the way, "That's me, I'm that." That's creating a cage, you know. Be open. God, there's so many miracles, you know, that can happen in life when you're in alignment with it. That law of attraction, and a lot of people hear the term,

but a lot of people, I'll, I'll tell them, "You, the law of attraction's stupid," okay? Sorry, universe, I know you're gonna get me someday on that. Because we are the intelligence behind the law. The law is based on a magnetics and the emotions that we have, and it runs through the magnetic sacred system. So if you're down here, and you're saying, "I'm here, I'm here, why?" when you're just, like, not in alignment to the pathway of all those possibilities that are in a higher frequency above you.

It's really that simple.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (24:44)

I

like to believe that God can be invincible and capable of anything. However, we see that so many people are waiting very passively. Whether they believe

Beth Lynch (25:01)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (25:01)

in something traditional, or fate, whatever it is, people will be not taking the steps, the actions to make something happen, and then

waiting for the arbitrary right moment. But, but you do still have your intuition. I'm curious, how do you, at least personally for you, or beyond that, how do you know when to coast and slow down? How do you know when you're putting, putting this onto fate so much that you're not actually doing anything, or someone else?

You know you need to take actions for things, but

Beth Lynch (25:45)

Yeah, I

think I, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you. I find that, that really, the personal experience I had with wanting to move back to Florida, my mother-in-law passed within the year of us being, year to the day, to the hour, actually. It was bizarre. But, and we could have moved, but there was financial reasons, there was, it was all financial, I think, at the time, actually. And

so to sit and coast for a while was like, it kind of was the only option, but I always did it with optimism. Like, I know I'll be back there. I can't even tell you that I feel that eighteen, it took eighteen years, because I was able to visit, visit for so many, you know, I would go, come down and visit, so I would see family. You were busy raising our son, we're doing school activities, we're doing sports. So time was flying, you know. I never got caught up

in how long it was taking. I started a little bit that last year. I remember thinking, I, I have to get back. I don't know. Even if it's a snowbird, I'll hand— I'll take that. You know, that's kind of what I was thinking we would have to do. And, you know, it was just, I, all I can say is, I think faith kept me going, but time is not of the, the soul or the spirit. So

I think because I have such faith that I never got caught up in how long, you know, it was taking. And that the timing, once it, you know, I saw the sign, and I get home, and my son comes down the stairs and says those words. And then I tell my husband, you know, and then we say, "Let's go, let's, let's, let's put it out there in a few months, or five months." And then three days later, somebody I chatted with, you know, "Keep me in mind that when it gets closer to spring," said, "Well, if you can move now, I got somebody about your house." I'm like, "Huh?"

You know, I mean, I couldn't have asked for those things to happen, you know. And even just the way that person got told wasn't like, you know, a d— a deliberate thing. It was kind of like, just ran into, or I think I ran into, or I don't remember. But yeah. So that, it just started moving. That's the power of energy. I tell people, once you energetically start thinking in a certain direction, the possibilities are gonna pre— prevent— present themselves.

And if they don't, you're not gonna get it, get that push either, so you'll be okay where you are. So I definitely practised what I preached with that, with everything, really, but that, for sure.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (28:20)

Thinking so much about divine timing at the moment, because of age, and because it's an interesting time. It felt for me like during and after a COVID, a few years just flew by, because we're all in some form of limbo. And then now it feels like the years are flying by because we're all catching up on what we need.

Beth Lynch (28:49)

Mm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (28:49)

I'm seeing a nod. There's a collective... Okay. So it sounds like that's happening in some ways for everybody. You had your kid at forty?

Beth Lynch (29:00)

Yeah. And interesting

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (29:01)

Tell me more about that.

Beth Lynch (29:03)

interesting enough, when I was twenty-two and I went to a psychic, and she told me that I was gonna have a little boy at forty years of age. Now, at twenty-two, living in Fort Lauderdale, having some fun, I'm thinking in my head, first of all, I don't like kids, because I really didn't have a th— it, it wasn't a desire. And forty's old.

I thought forty was old because I was twenty-two. So you put that away, because that ain't gonna happen, right? Poor sidekick [check audio: likely "psychic"]. I probably said she was wrong. I don't know, I doubt I did. But, but I was only twenty-two, so... And then I remember, you know, I got with my husband same year my mom passed, pretty much. I...

We were together, like, seven years. And then one day he said, "What about that baby thing?" And I'm like, "Are you crazy? I'm almost forty. I'm almost forty years old. We don't got a lot of time here." And then I went, my God, I got butterflies in my stomach. I wasn't pregnant, but I got this feeling. And I went, I'm gonna med— now, at this point, I'm, you know, got the healing centre. We're, I'm a meditator. I'm full in, you know, applying it into my physical world as well. And

I meditate on it, and I remember I was teaching a class of, for meditation. And in the class I was, like, thinking, God, I'm just not getting into the... usually it, when I taught it, I would really get in and have an experience. But I kind of had this moment where I'm like, I can't get into this. It's... and but then, all of a sudden, I saw an Indian in my inner, the third eye, you know, that's a screen, I call it, and I said...

I saw this Indian hold a blue papoose, and he said, "You are woman, you are, you are child, you are woman, you are mother." And he, it was like he handed it to me. And I remember going, my God, I'm gonna have a baby. Because when I had that experience, I remember saying, I'm not gonna overthink this. I'm just gonna say, "Divine, divine direction, be revealed to me," because I didn't know what to do. I thought I was

crossing that line of, I probably won't be able to get pregnant. I had just started the centre. Me and my sister just opened that up a matter of months before. There was a lot going on in my thirty-nine-and-a-half-year-old world, you know? And that's about gonna shake it all up. But what was interesting, I felt very peaceful about it. Like I said, "I'm gonna... at forty, we're shutting the gates," I said, "and, but we'll try till then."

And funny enough, and then I asked for one more sign. And I did get a very powerful spiritual sign. I remember saying, "I'm sorry, but I just need one more sign. I won't ask again." And a couple days later, I was meditating, and I went through this moment where I saw the numb— name John with number, colon, number, and I went, "What?" And then it went by again, and then it went by, and it almost stopped. And I went, "That's the Bible."

I hadn't read the Bible in many years. I went to Catholic school for twelve years, but it'd been a while. And

I, I happen to have a little New Testament that somebody gave me because she thought I was gonna go to... because of what I did. And I said, "No, if I get to the gates and God said, 'You shouldn't have done that, but you helped people, we're gonna let you in,'" is my worst scenario. I knew what I was doing was sacred, you know, and I, and I didn't worry about that. I hope you don't hear the lawnmower. It sounds like my neighbours' lawn guys are there. And

I meditate, so I looked at the little Bible, I pulled it out, and I went, my God, there's John, number, qu— there it was, what I saw in my meditation. And I started reading it, and it's the story of when Mother Mary goes to tell her cousin Elizabeth that she's pregnant with baby Jesus. And when she gets there, her cousin Elizabeth is pregnant, who became the, just, Saint John the Baptist, but

Elizabeth was forty years old. Now, imagine I'm reading this, and I'm like, my God, I asked for one more sign, I'm getting it. And what's even funnier is, my name is Mary Elizabeth.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (33:26)

Seriously.

Beth Lynch (33:27)

Serious. I just closed that book and went, "I'm having a baby," and I knew it. And that, and I brought it home and showed my husband. And he's like, "Whoa." I, he goes, "Well, I guess that is a sign." I go, "That's a sign of the highest divine vibration."

I don't think we have control over it. I think, Immaculate Conception. I mean, hopefully nobody gets offended by saying those things, but I think it's a very beautiful story of how I really felt at peace with that decision, that this baby's coming. And that psychic did tell me that when I was twenty-two. So she wasn't wrong. Yeah, that was funny. But here, now he's, yeah, he's twenty-six, all grown up.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (34:09)

It's understandable, though, that at twenty-two you didn't want to think about things happening at forty. I know when I was that young, twenty-two, I wasn't thinking about what life would be like at forty. Probably most of us

Beth Lynch (34:23)

Mm-mm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (34:23)

don't.

Beth Lynch (34:25)

And I certainly didn't think I'd have a baby. And I think, you know, like, somebody said, "Well, how come people can see that?" And how, you know, I see pregnancies all the time. Some pregnancies that are told they'll never conceive. And I'm like, and I don't know that until I say, "Well, your grandmother says a baby's coming in," or something like that. And, "No, I can't get pregnant." I'm like, "Well, I don't know about that. Grandma says so, and she's up there." But I think there's, and they do get pregnant.

But you gotta let it go. It's like people who try and try and try, and then they adapt [check audio: likely "adopt"], and three months later they're pregnant. Why? The power of the mind is insane. It's insane how powerful your body will follow. You know, mind, body, spirit. I mean, that's really, you know, what it is. So, but yeah, they, you know...

There's, I think there's certain things in our blueprint that we're going to do, and we have to evolve to that place. You know, so if I had gone the other direction, I mean, who knows, but I didn't. It was right there in the, in the books, apparently. In the books.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (35:28)

It

really was. And

Beth Lynch (35:30)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (35:31)

I, I'm just joining dots myself, because you're telling that story about an Elizabeth, and your name is Elizabeth. I was very close to my grandmother. She died in twenty-one, and her name was Elizabeth as well.

Beth Lynch (35:48)

Well... And I don't tell that story to everybody. So I have a feeling Grandma saying, "You need to tell that story." I would, safe to say, you have her ring. Do you have a ring? I feel like I see the ring. Say the ring. Mm-hmm. She's listening. She's with you. And I don't know, did she have pretty eyebrows, or always have to do her eyebrows, or something?

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (36:14)

I'm not sure about the eyebrows, but she loved to dress up and look nice. She was very social, so she went to a lot of

Beth Lynch (36:23)

Yeah.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (36:23)

she, she did a lot in community, but she did it with a fun, dressed-up energy.

Beth Lynch (36:29)

Yeah. Like, I don't know. When you look at a picture of her, look and see if she has, like, really pretty eyebrows, or they just stand out, or maybe you have her eyebrows. I don't know. Because to show, say this, you know, it's like saying, "Mm," you know. And some people, they could care less about their eyebrows, you know. I understand that, because I don't have any minor tattooed [check audio: likely "I don't have any; mine are tattooed"], because, well, now at this age, I don't even, you know, they'd probably be grey anyway, so who cares? But for many years as a hairdresser, I plucked them all, and they never grew back. So

I went for a long time without eyebrow. So I'm laughing. That's why I think it's funny that your grandmother made me say that, because a lot of people might not think it's anything, but people who have to put them on, we know the importance. Or there are people who just like that style, you know, a little stronger. So I think she had a pretty eyebrow. That's what I think.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (37:18)

That's encouraging, because I'd say that the other, another part of the family had very, very intense eyebrows and had been very hairy.

Beth Lynch (37:32)

Was that her, her side, or was that the other side?

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (37:36)

Well, this is the grandmother on my dad's side, right? But I'd say

Beth Lynch (37:42)

Are they the, are they the, are

they the eyebrow family?

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (37:48)

I'm close to saying so. Dad's, Dad's mother was from a very Jewish lineage that would have had a bit more eyebrow, I guess.

Beth Lynch (37:59)

Mm-hmm. Okay. I just think she's got a pretty brow. I think when you look at a picture of her, in, maybe it's in her younger days, she'll, you'll, it'll just, to me, that should just stand out really n— easily, not like, "Hmm, let me think about it," or "I gotta look," you know. You'll see.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (38:14)

Be ready to.

Beth Lynch (38:14)

But I keep hearing, like, Lua, Lulu, Lou, something with a name. Who's that?

You have anybody with that name in, or that's in their name? Luella, Luella,

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (38:27)

Ooh.

Beth Lynch (38:28)

Luella. I don't know why I feel like Luella.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (38:31)

I don't

know.

Beth Lynch (38:34)

Anything where Lou is in the name.

I'm saying I'm feeling more female, but I guess that is a, could be a male name. I don't know. Picking up a... Well, it could be a friendship.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (38:43)

Someone in family, someone... what sort of

Beth Lynch (38:47)

It doesn't, it's somebody in the spirit world. That's for sure.

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (38:57)

Okay, is that coming

Beth Lynch (38:58)

Who is it?

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (38:59)

to you as just someone who's a bit of a guide, or what sort of feeling are you getting from that?

Beth Lynch (39:06)

It can be. You're

the, they're gonna give me that sound because they feel you know it. So is it a family member? Is it a friendship? Is it a spiritual guide you've already made a connection with? I've seen that happen. I don't know. Because I'm not really tuned in to do that, but they can be very spontaneous. And the re— only reason they will is to show you, "Yes, I'm here," you know. Why? Who's it make you think of?

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (39:32)

Well, the only person I can think of with that sort of name is someone that I haven't been ultra close to, but is a bit of a guidance. That's the only person I can think of.

Beth Lynch (39:46)

But they're living?

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (39:46)

Pretty much.

Yes. But it's not very close.

Beth Lynch (39:53)

What's the name? Can you say it, or... okay.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (39:56)

I shouldn't. Not on a recording.

Beth Lynch (39:58)

Yeah, then don't. Yeah, because somebody, you know, somebody up there knows it, or I'm not gonna hear it. You know? So it could be just for you privately to know, "My goodness." And who would say it? Just somebody, depending on the details of the person, just somebody that feels, "Tell her that, she's gonna know we're watching." You know, and also it could be a loved one of that person, like, who did they lose? Sometimes people call out the name of their family member.

You're not related, but you're good friends, or you have a connection. So, but that's, you know, a lot can go on with that. It could go a few different directions. But you seem to know. So trust it.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (40:33)

So, but what feeling or what meaning was emerging for you when that name was appearing?

Beth Lynch (40:41)

What, Lou? Nothing, really.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (40:44)

Yes.

Beth Lynch (40:44)

Just, we're talking about it, and I was getting your grandmother. So somebody threw that at me too. Maybe she did, I don't know. It's really, it depends on the, the context of it. Like, as a medium, I always say I don't know what I'm talking about half the time, but I know that if you hear it, it's got some meaning, and usually you're the one that knows what it is, and some people choose to tell you, and some people don't. But in a private session, everybody tells you everything, you know what I mean? So

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (41:10)

They would. Actually

Beth Lynch (41:12)

Yeah. Like, one day I

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (41:12)

I've

Beth Lynch (41:13)

had, it's kind of like... well, they wouldn't. They would respect your privacy too. They know what not to say, and they know when not to look, and they know that, and they honour, they respect that. It's a lot of sacred respect that goes on in the channelling. Should go on.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (41:28)

Yes.

Whenever I talk with a podcast guest who holds space for people, be it sessions like what do you do [check audio: likely "what you do"], or a yoga, anything, I always like to ask: is there anything you keep in mind when you are holding space for people? They might be holding grief or hope, anything. What do you keep in mind when doing that delicate work?

Beth Lynch (41:54)

Well, most people come to me for the grief, and I work with a lot of people that lose children. I look with, I work with a lot of suicides. I do, I get, I get some hard stuff. But after thirty years, I mean, you know, I've, I'm, I understand it, and I understand why I'm getting it. So I just wanna hold that space for them, to keep it sacred and comfortable, compassionate and natural.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (42:20)

Absolutely.

Beth Lynch (42:21)

And I think

as long as I do that with a blessing, which I do when I begin, always a blessing, it just starts coming, like, "Show her the ring, and show her eyebrows, and say Lou," and, you know, I don't know what it means half the time, you know. Yeah, but that was what you were receiving. [check speaker: this last sentence may be Melanie, as Beth replies "I wasn't thinking it, I was showing it"]

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (42:37)

You were,

you were thinking about a ring as well.

Beth Lynch (42:43)

I wasn't thinking it, I was showing it. There's a difference.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (42:47)

That is, that is fascinating, because that's coming to you at a time when, pretty much for a bit last year, and then a while this year, I was in an on-again, off-again, where... and I was going to ask you about your relationships a bit, because I need inspiration, but, and we all do, but I was in this on-again, off-again, and I just knew, okay,

things need to be a bit more continuous, a bit more steady. And I felt ready for a commitment. It has been a while since my last long, committed relationship. And if anyone can relate to that feeling of having had a while of just flicking from person to person, you get a bit exhausted. I don't know if we're always built

Beth Lynch (43:39)

Yeah, yeah.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (43:40)

to flick from person to person. So it had just been within me

for a while, that readiness. So it's fascinating that you brought that up. I'm wondering, how did you know, within your intuition and anything else, how to decide and when to decide about your relationships?

Beth Lynch (44:05)

That was another divine intervention. I think

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (44:09)

Good.

Beth Lynch (44:11)

when I got belie— I had gone back up north to visit my hometown, which is where I li— went back to for eighteen years, but that was fifteen years prior. And I had lived, you know, in New York or Florida, you know, for a while at that point. So I had come out of something that was kind of long, and it had ended, and I, and it was

ended, and I decided to go back to New York to visit my girlfriends and hang out for a week and just forget about the Florida world

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (44:43)

Distract.

Beth Lynch (44:44)

for, yeah, the relationship, and, and I remember I ran into who's my husband now for thirty-three years. He's, I knew him growing up. I mean, we just, the small town, USA. So we run into each other, he buys me a drink, we're out, da-da-da.

And I remember looking outside, like, within a couple of moments of him, you know, you know, he asked, "What are you doing up here? Are you visiting?" Da-da-da. And I looked out, and it was a major snow, the kind of snowstorm that's, the snow's just piling up hourly, but it's beautiful and white and big flakes, like, that kind of snow. That's like that for, like, a day, and then that's not anymore. But anyways, I was looking, I looked outside, and I went, my God, what am I doing here in this snowstorm? And I heard a voice say, "You're going to marry him." And I went,

"What was that?" And I looked at him, and he goes, "I'm having the strangest..." I go, "My God, don't even." And I knew at that point, trust my instincts in life. I was pretty, you know, I was always trusted him, but I heard the voice. And, and then it ended up sparking a conversation that, "Well, come down and visit. I ain't got nothing else going on either. And let's see how it goes." And he literally came down and never, never left. It's been thirty-three years.

Yeah. So it was just a... even though the timing, I don't think, was, I felt the best for me, because I was still kind of over there a little bit, but immediately it was like I knew, and I heard the voice. I, maybe, you know, I think there's certain relationships that, you know, we're going to be in. I don't think you'll... I mean, look at, we were two thousand miles apart, and that freak visit,

we got together. I tell people, stop thinking. I go, but the one thing I did say, and I remember that, is, "I'll never compromise my happiness for another person again." 'Cause I did a lot of that in that relationship. I'm sure I, I know I did. And so I remember thinking, I would never do that again. I will follow my dreams. And thirty, I've always done it, thirty-three years. I've, I, you know, he's always, he's my biggest supporter, you know, for what I do,

changing jobs, you know, we've moved from Florida to New York, back to Florida. You know, at sixty years old, we moved back to Florida. So we

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (47:07)

Wow.

Beth Lynch (47:08)

didn't stop and think, "We're sixty years old, we really shouldn't do that." We didn't stop and care that only ten more years on our mortgage. All that equity got us here. You know what I mean? That's how you look at stuff, you know. And if you want to follow your

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (47:20)

You were sixty.

Beth Lynch (47:21)

dreams and really be, you know, you gotta be willing to do it.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (47:27)

Yes. And I was going to ask, look, we need to comment on that in a second. You were sixty when you moved, so, I know it's a rude question, but if it's okay, how old are you now?

Beth Lynch (47:37)

No, I don't care.

I'm good. I'm good with that. I don't feel it.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (47:44)

I mean, you don't look whatever age you are. Seriously.

Beth Lynch (47:48)

Sixty-seven.

Now, I just turned sixty-seven. Well, you know, this is what I tell people. I laugh, no Botox yet, but probably could use a little, right? Right there. But, you know, when you meditate, you slow your nervous system down. When you slow your nervous system down, your organs get to relax, right? I walk. I eat very, I don't eat crazily. I mean, I, I love to cheat, but I eat consciously. Let's put it that way.

But the meditation, when you do something every single day, whether it's five minutes, twenty minutes, it doesn't matter. Five minutes is better than no minutes. That's what I tell people. Mindful moments. Slow down. You're giving your nervous system an opportunity to slow down, you're giving the pressure inside your body trying to function a moment to heal, right? So, what ages us? All of that. So when you live a little more consciously and mindfully,

you're going to slow yourself down. I think. And I think that's the fountain of youth that a lot of people don't realise. Like, I speak on, and I'm like, you know, I, a lot of people tell me I don't look like I'm almost seventy years old. Many do. Because I am almost seventy. And I can hear my moments now. But

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (49:08)

Yes.

Beth Lynch (49:08)

I got three more years. But, but it's kind of funny, you know, because I think there's no other explanation

that if I...

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (49:15)

For sure.

Beth Lynch (49:16)

If you look at the principles of energy and the body and the mind, what, you know, there's no other answer. I think it

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (49:24)

You're totally in alignment,

and I can see you trying to reassure the audience that there's no other answer, but what you're describing is what so many health specialists have said on the podcast as well. It's the simple things. I can tell you

Beth Lynch (49:45)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (49:45)

I'll get, say, gosh, a food psychologist, a behavioural, whatever, you know, I've had most types of specialists on here.

And they'll say: sleep, hydrate, don't eat rubbish, junk, garbage. You know, just eat real food, and, and also be mindful, like you're saying, and whatever that can be. Sit with... you know, there will be some religious people who'll say I should be pointing people in only one direction. I'm not pointing anyone in any direction right now, because wherever people are in this moment, our first step is to pause and

look beyond our surroundings, especially, especially being in a city. I can say I was on the coast for a bunch of years, and life felt a bit more natural. Getting back to the city, it might, there could be some parallels to what it was like in New York. I haven't been there, but you're surrounded by advertisements. That was, so that was a big shift for me. You're surrounded by distractions and things that are not

considering your highest purpose. So whether it's that, or just looking at our next step, right, we all need to slow down and eat something real, do the right things. It's awesome knowing that that has helped you to feel young at any age.

Beth Lynch (51:12)

Mm-hmm. Yeah. I definitely, that's a beautiful way to, to put it. I don't think, you know, it's like the law of attraction. You know, you're, you attract what you are, what you're putting in, what you're, how you're thinking. And I think one of the biggest things I've learned, even in all of this, if I was to pick something, is we, we have control of how we think. And that's going to run how we feel.

And that's going to run the conditions of our life and what we're attracting, holding still, or repelling. So if you want to take a simple formula, whether you look at the science of Nikola Tesla saying energy, vibration, frequency, if you want to understand the secrets of the universe, you better think that way. Or do you want to look at it as spirit, which is the divine, the faith, it's all of it, equals how you're going to run down here.

And, you know, the, the species has lost its ability, and I think the generations in the last two decades, at least, if not three, have been brainwashed to think they don't have that ability to think, feel, create and love in the way they should, first and foremost, beginning with themselves, because that'll just r— you know, ooze out around everything else.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (52:31)

Is that because you have been seeing people look outwards, and we don't, we don't look within as much? Do you think so?

Beth Lynch (52:39)

Mm-hmm. That's definitely it. And that's, that's a big problem. You know, you got to go within. Go within, go within, within, within. Everything's within. And otherwise, it's a search. And it's not in another person. And it's not in a certain amount of money. And it's not in the fur [check audio: likely "the"] perfect w— [check audio: likely "white"] picket fence. And it's not outside of yourself. And, and then there's, you know, certain chemical things that are being put in systems that can

distort realities and, and drop frequencies very low. And that's a whole nother topic, but it's very real. So you gotta believe in the, you know, when I explain spirit or spirituality... sorry, my dog's barking again. When I talk about spirituality, spirituality is your intuitive nature, which is

a survival mechanism, not just talking to the divine, universe, source, God. It's not just that. It's that, but it's an intuitive connection to living and survival. It is also our creative energy in our spiritual essence, how we're going to create, what we're going to create to prov— survive, express ourselves, you know, no matter what it is. You know, one person, it's being a CEO, another person, it's being, you know,

maestro running an orchestra, another person, it's being a medium. I mean, everybody, there's so many ways, you know. But it's intuitive, creative, compassionate. Compassion is in your spirit. Your personality only has so much patience, and it runs out. But your spirit will never run out of compassion. We have some great mentors in the spirit world who have teachers of avatars who have taught us that, right? Have compassion, forgiveness. It's also your connectedness to one another,

you know, how we connect energetically through the heart.

It's everything. And, and it, it's, and how we cope emotionally. You know, the personality will roll down in the mud and sink into the sand if you let it. The spirit will not do that. The spirit knows it can go through any human experience it's facing, including grief, being the hardest. And the spirit

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (54:57)

Hard.

Beth Lynch (54:58)

also can't be addicted. Your spiritual nature cannot be addicted. Your personality and your body chemistry, however, it can.

So you have to get up into that frequency for that issue to be healed.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (55:12)

What, what do you mean about the spirit and addictiveness? Are you saying

Beth Lynch (55:18)

Well, the spiritual,

the spiritual nature is your highest aspect of your consciousness, of who you are, right? All those little things I just put in, that little five or six things, they, that's from your higher vibration, your soul-level expression of who you are. But then you have a personality that's your lower vibration, not a bad vibration, just lower frequency. And that's your personality that goes, uses the human body and expresses itself. So in your higher vibration, your spirit, that

can't get addicted. Your personality gets addicted. And then the body can go into the addictiveness of needing whatever it is. It could be a alcohol, a drug, it can be gambling. There's so many things, you know. And so when you get up in a higher frequency, the natural healing of the addictive area is going to change, because that area of you is not addicted to anything. It's a, it knows its source.

It knows its supplier is sacred, it's divine, it's natural, it's powerful. And so, you, to me, it's one of the missing links in a lot of, you know, rehabilitation. If you don't get people connected to their spirit, which then they get, "Where you got to be a religion?" It's not a religious thing, it's a vibrational thing. Your religions will float around in a lot of different frequencies, depending how rigid you are. You're the one, you know, there's some that'll say, like I said,

I had people tell me I was gonna go to hell for what I did. I said, "Well, when you look in the eyes of a parent who's lost a child, and that's the first time they've smiled in five years, I think they're gonna let me in the gate. So don't worry about me, I'll be just fine." And I work with a lot of that, you know, people who don't know how they're gonna wake up in the morning because of the loss of, you know, someone like a child, or any, you know, it can be a lot of, a spouse, a good friend, a sibling. So, and then there's the parents and the grandparents. I mean, all of it is grief, but the...

You know, there's some griefs that just are a little different. And yeah, so your, your natural healing ability is in your spiritual nature. So you better hang out with your higher self. At least, tell people listening to this, just wake up in the morning and say, "Thank you, higher self. I know you walk with me." Put your head on the pillow, say, "Goodnight, higher self. I know you're with me in my dream." Start somewhere, start moving energy somewhere. You will see and feel and get your tangible proof you need,

because you're moving energy first.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (57:46)

Do you find that it helps to give that attention at the start and end of the day?

Beth Lynch (57:52)

Absolutely. First thing you wake up. You know, most people wake up, and but a little, you know, and everything you went to bed with is now, you know, back on your shoulders, backpacking it. Then you had some social media looking, and check this, and check that. You've just... you know, I'm not perfect. I know there's some days where, you know, I might reach over, I check on my son or something on my phone, make sure nothing I mi— didn't miss a call in the middle of the night, or something silly like that. But I immediately put it down

and say my mantras. I believe in God, so I'll say, "Thank you, God. You know, what are we gonna do today? Let's help people, you know. I know we're gonna use me, use me, use me." I mean, I have very natural conversations with that higher power. I don't feel it's a man up there with a beard giving it to me. It's a source of energy that I'm turning the switch on, saying, "Okay, run through me." And, you know, at night, when you lay your head on the pillow, everybody lays there. I tell, that's why.

If you go to my website and put your email address in, you'll get, like, seven free meditations immediately. Some are five minutes. One's a tree, one's a walking one. You can do it virtual, or you can take a walk and do it listening while you're walking. It's only fifteen minutes. So I try to get every little area. One's focus and concentration. Six minutes. Great for students, great for any... You got to read, gotta do some work, gotta get your... listen to the six-minute. It'll stimulate

third eye, which is the, the real intelligence anyway, connecting you to the divine intelligence. So yeah, there's so many things. So that's a great thing. I mean, get your meditations, and unsubscribe if you want. I don't care, but get your meditations and start using them, and see, feel the difference in your life very quickly too. These, the beautiful thing about spirit and energy is, it doesn't take six months of treatment to work. It's going to start working. I find that you usually in three...

I can say three seconds sometimes, but three seconds, three minutes, three hours, three days, three weeks, the max. You're gonna see something in those threes to show you what you're doing and what you're committed to is working.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:00:06)

Committing to it? Is it a

Beth Lynch (1:00:08)

Yeah.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:00:08)

habit that grows you over time?

Beth Lynch (1:00:14)

It's a commitment. It's just waking up and doing, it's waking up and going, "Wait a minute, put my phone down." A few slow breaths, repeat your mantras. That's why you should write your mantras down, or just say, "I am in divine alignment." Keep it simple. Keep it simple. You know, when I work with people, I give them a little more personalised ones, of course, because I'm working with you, but there, there are some you can just say, you know, that "I am in divine alignment." How easy is that? "I am open to the divine direction."

"I am." Align yourself. "Open to divine direction." You got something you're wondering about? "I am open to divine direction." Put it out every time you think about it. If you think about it six hundred times in an hour, you better say the mantra six hundred times right after you thought about it. It isn't difficult. It's just commitment to it. And laughing at yourself a little. I laugh at myself. "My God, I had to say that three hundred times today." Well, the next day you say it three times, you know, because you didn't need it, because you shifted it.

But, you know, you practise.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:01:14)

Yes.

Absolutely.

Beth Lynch (1:01:22)

It's not difficult to be a happy person. And there's a lot of, you know, there are... It's not difficult to be happy. I, you know, I choose happy. When people say, "I'm trying to be happy, I can't be happy in this relationship. I can't do this, but I can't leave," everybody's got their list, right? I was like, "Okay, so wake up in the morning and say, 'I choose happy.'" Take four slow breaths, say it four times. Or think it. Or if you're a journaller, write it. "I choose happy."

To an hour later, you start to go down the, "I'm..." all the negative stuff, which is negative light [check audio: possibly "negative, like,"] when you look at the word negative. And you, and you do that. You, "Okay, but I choose happy." And you say it to you, your mindful thinking. You're, be, what are you going to fill your mind with? Because that's running your show. "Why? I can't."

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:02:09)

Choosing happy.

Beth Lynch (1:02:10)

"I'm trying. I'm trying." Don't say "I'm trying." Say "I choose to." When you say "I'm trying," the law of attraction just went...

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:02:19)

The last time

I heard someone talking about choosing happiness, it was that person who was on again, off again. But now you're talking about that as well. I am so keen to give that concept more attention in our final ten or twenty minutes. Because happiness, I personally can relate to those people you've talked to who say,

"I want to be happy, and I'm just not." Perhaps, at least, look, I know we're all different, and I'm not projecting onto anyone, but at times it can be the dissatisfaction of, "I feel like I need something in particular," or it feels like I need to be heading in a direction with life choices, whatever. Or it could be the overload, the overwhelm of, there's so much going on in the day.

Do you see people who are really struggling to be happy? And for you, is it, is it about... I'm wondering if it's a very conscious decision each day. And the thing that I am mentally comparing it to is, some people I've seen on social media will say, if they are married, they say that being married is a choice that you make every single day. It's not, you made it once and then you're just living live [check audio: likely "life"]. Are you

Beth Lynch (1:03:44)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:03:44)

committing in the same way to happiness, of making a conscious, aware decision?

Beth Lynch (1:03:49)

Absolutely.

Absolutely. I feel it's like, "I choose happy," with a few breaths every day. "I choose happy." And I feel there was probably a point where I was saying it where I wasn't as happy as I could be, I'm sure, you know. But when you start saying it, you start aligning to things that you see will make you happy. You start, it starts trip— drifting into your relationships, the closest ones especially,

where, you know, you're kind of creating a boundary of, "I'm choosing happy. You, you on board or not? I can't control your happy," you know. So you, you don't worry about somebody else being happy and you're, and messing with your happiness. But you got to flip that switch, you know. And I think once, and it's so natural that it really isn't difficult, but you got to sit, say the breasts [check audio: likely "breaths"], and choose it. And when you choose it, you're, you're raising your frequency.

And not worry about everybody else, and not worry about what you think will make you happy is what you need before you can be happy. You know, it's like even when people talk about worrying. "Well, I worry all the time." I'm like, "Why do you say that?" You know, you just said, "Come for lunch, lun— worries, come for dinner, worries. Lay down with me when I go to sleep, worries. I worry all the time." That's what you're saying. You know, say, you know, "I, I choose to release from the energy creating my worries."

Sometimes you gotta devote some more time to something like that, because you were, you know... I have a child, I have a son. Do I worry about him? I probably, as a mother, have to say yes, in all honesty. But I also know that I step back, and I reflect, and I contemplate, and I send a little mantra out for him, instead of sitting there going down the worst-case scenario for, you know, an hour. And now my nervous system is a mess. You're vibrationally making them

feel you're worried about them all the time. You can even push people away with that. You know, they don't even know you're, you is, it's energy, you know. So don't say "I worry all the time." I sit with so many people that say they worry all the time. By the time I'm done with them, they're choosing, "Okay, I'm not going to worry anymore." But reflect on something. Contemplate it. Don't go into worst-case scenario for an hour, thinking your nervous system, even fifteen minutes, would not respond to that. Of course it will.

"I bless it, I set it free." That's one of my favourite mantras. "I bless it, I set it free." When I think of something that's, "Okay, that's three or four times now. Where am I going?" I'm going to bless it and set it free. "I bless you, I set you free." And I laugh at myself. I put wings on it. I throw it in a trash can. I do all kinds of things. There's no wrong, you know. It's, know that mindful living will be your foundation to the conditions and what you're going to create in your life, or not. So what's your mind full of?

'Cause that's gonna tell you right there.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:06:43)

It's going to tell you. Look, this is opening my eyes so much. And some of these things, we know it, but we don't dwell in it as much as we should. You said that worry can push people away. And

Beth Lynch (1:07:00)

Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:07:00)

that's such a light bulb moment for me, because I, I know some of this can be relatable. I'd been living in fear

Beth Lynch (1:07:09)

Mm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:07:09)

after things had genuinely happened. After

big things happen, it's easy to wonder, what if it happens again? And there was a moment when someone who has a lot of resources and access, whatever, said to me, "Something could happen." It's really hard when people who have had every opportunity imaginable will say, "Yes, something could still happen." You know,

we're realising, okay, that's, that's life, but that didn't ease the worry. So, but what you're revealing is that if we live in the worry, we're not living in the opposite of that.

Beth Lynch (1:07:59)

Exactly. Or, and that the possibilities can't present themselves. Or if they do, they're gonna go right by you, you know. You know, I choose, you know, I choose, you know, I choose, I choose happy. I choose to be present. I choose divine communication in my relationship. You know, when you're married thirty-three years, you can't say you haven't had some downs. There's been moments.

And I remember, you know, surrendering and saying, "Okay, I'm redevoting to this relationship," during one of our harder times. And once I redevoted, and realised that word had a lot of power, because, "I'm not working on it, and I'm not trying anymore. I'm done." But the minute I said that, between me and the universe, "I am redevoting to this, and I'm gonna see how it goes," it was no sooner that night that my partner came in, and

only within an hour or two, I think, came in and wanted to talk about things. And we sat and had the most deepest conversation. And I'm like, "Damn, that works." And he didn't even know I was saying that mantra, you know? So, I mean, I've lived it enough to see, when you, I redevoted, it changed everything, and, and from the, and then that's over f— fifteen, eighteen years now, so it's worked.

And it's how you communicate, but you're c— how you communicate, you know, you can't... "I'm trying." Who wants to try all the time? You know, when people even say their work relationships, I go, "Just change the word a little bit." Because nobody wants to work all day and then gotta come home and work again, you know, on your stuff, and how you communicate, and who's having, making dinner, and who's cleaning the dishes. That's everyday crap we gotta do. Somebody's gotta do it, or you're all living in a mess, probably, right? These are just things. I, and

you know, I laugh when I think about it, of how fast things really worked with that when I put that mantra out that time. And like I said, maybe fifteen, eighteen years ago, and it's never sto— I've never stopped. That's what I think. If things get a little... but they don't really, 'cause I think it, it moved it. Mm-hmm.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:10:14)

What was the

mantra exactly?

Beth Lynch (1:10:18)

"I am devoted to this relationship and its highest good." I am devoted

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:10:24)

"I am devoted."

Beth Lynch (1:10:26)

to, and you could do it, anybody could do it, any relationship. You know, when you're up for the highest good of something, you're gonna either get that vibrational spiritual support from your higher, your higher being, your, your mindful living to support you.

And that's how you know, and you feel, like, I couldn't even know some of the things that I shared with you. It was a feeling, and it was, it was almost like this odd magnetic navigation that was happening so fast, but you just could never pull away from something like that. You can't, you know it. You feel it in your core. It brings peace, you know. It brings peace. And that's the difference. Something that isn't will bring you a little more anxiousness.

'Cause your body's saying, "No, go, go, go, go, up, up, up frequency. Let's let that intuition come in." That's another thing people don't realise about anxiety. The spirit world showed me this years ago, that anxiety is actually a, a nervous system response to a feeling you're getting to trust, and you're not listening.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:11:30)

Yes. When something feels right, you'll be at ease.

Beth Lynch (1:11:34)

Mm-hmm. Yeah, it feels good. And sometimes it doesn't make logical sense. You know, like people telling me, "At sixty, you're gonna move?" I'm like, "Yeah, going back to Florida." You know.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:11:45)

That's encouraging. I want the

listener to zoom in on this so much, because sometimes something can feel right, and there will be people questioning that.

Beth Lynch (1:11:57)

Yeah.

You can't ask ten different people, "Should you, should you?" You get ten different vibrations. You just put yours at the bottom, you know. That's why I'm usually a decision-maker before I tell anybody, because I can feel it. And I'll put it out and say, "Divine direction. Give me a few days." Divine, it always comes in within three days. I, I don't care. It will, if you give it that power. And, like I said, it gives you the direction. Are you coasting? Are you moving on this? Are you...

You know, "Okay, maybe start jotting some ideas down." Whatever it is, just

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:12:32)

There's one other thing.

Beth Lynch (1:12:32)

don't make it hard. I

feel, don't make it harder on yourself than it has to be. But I remember there was a day I made it harder on myself, but many moons ago. Few decades back.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:12:44)

There's one other thing that I want to ask about before we wind up and conclude. You said that you talk with a lot of people who have grief, and even parents who lost a child, or other forms of grief. I'm wondering if you can remind the listener of the various sorts of grief that you see in the people you work with, and

how they... we talked about choosing happiness. How do your people choose happiness after a greed [check audio: likely "grief"]?

Beth Lynch (1:13:24)

I think there's, there's times in grief... I mean, I remember my own, the first year. Well, I wasn't gonna be told I was gonna be happy again, and that's how I felt. But I think when you have to allow the space for that grief, for that sadness, that anger, but you have to also believe that there's a, you know, in, in grief, we go into the understanding of eternal life, because the spirit of the loved one is

still with you, and they show you that. And some of the things, it's just endless stories. And that lifts a person vibrationally, that gives them hope, you know. So in sessions, when you're creating that space, you're not really doing it for them. You're creating the space for it to be done, because they feel their loved ones' spirit. You know, that's the power of the natural communication and what it can do.

And to give yourself space to feel sad, to feel angry. Anger is a part of grief. But it's actually, what I've been told by spirit, you know, there's the depths of grief that makes you feel like you don't want to get up in the morning. You're not gonna get, you know... and then there's anger, which is grief trying to go up in frequency. And then there's your next layer of grief, which is the grief that you can navigate through, live life, go, go to work, or wake up, you know.

Do you know, do the, the everyday things you gotta do to be human. And, you know, like I said, you know, when people cross that, you know, when you have a child that passes away, and that, you know, more good morning is not going to be there physically anymore. You have to start believing that your signs will be there, the spirit will be there. You, and that's what channelling really is supposed to do. Show people, you know, that this is possible, that you will be able to continue a relationship.

It's going to be different. You're going to be okay, because that's what they would want. They want to continue relating with you, and giving you signs, and giving you maybe that voice in your head, and that dream. That's part of the journey. It's, as humans, that's our hardest emotion. We grieve careers. We grieve retirement. I've had so many people grieve retirement five years before they got to do it. And I'm like, "Are you kidding? You're blessed."

"You just, well, I never looked at it as a blessing." I go, "You are." There are a lot of people that are not going to do that. We're unprepared, or the careers didn't support that, you know, or have 401(k)s. You know what I mean? And I go, "If you, if you, you got, it's how you're gonna look at it." There's not one of those people that ever came back and said, "I hate retirement." If anything, they said, "I don't know why I worried about it for five years. I absolutely love it. And I'm busy all the time." So, you know, what kind of grief

are we talking about? Some people are blessed that they don't have those harder griefs, but your spirit will support that. Your spirit knows it's eternal. Your spirit knows you can. And you got to know your spirit to have that support. Don't expect someone else. It's nice if you have other

people around you that can, you know, be a support system, but you, you have to begin with yourself, to believe, to want to, because that's what they would want for you.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:16:43)

Believe within, and, and connect. Are you saying that there is a connection even when someone is further away? I know that came across even with your relationship story. And now with this, whether someone is far away

Beth Lynch (1:16:59)

Is it? [check audio]

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:17:00)

or gone, there's still the connection.

Beth Lynch (1:17:05)

My God, yes. And the signs are always there. And, you know, I remember when my mom, it'd been over thirty years when I did this, but I was having my human moment, as I called it. And I was looking at my hands, and I was like, my God, my hands look like your hands. And my mom frost [check audio: likely "passed"] at fifty-five. So I'm twelve years older than her. And, but I, well, it was probably ten years at that time. And I'm like, wow, my hands look like your hands. I th— there was, it was amazing to me to look at my hands

and see my mom's, you know? And so I had that little conversation with her. And then I was like, God. And I cried, and I had my human moment, as I called it. "I know you're there. I know you hear me." But I let it go. So that night, I, in the twilight, is a very powerful time. But it was the twilight. I was waking up. So when we're waking up, we're between two worlds. We're really more asleep, I think. But we're right there, where I was very conscious of what I was experiencing.

And I remember I was sitting on my porch as a young girl with my little sister, who was five years younger than me. And we were sitting on the house where we grew up. And this was my dream, that next day. And when I was sitting there, I looked at her, and she was, you know, probably five in the dream. And I put my hand on her knee in the dream. And I went, "Your skin is so soft." And then I looked at her, and it was my mom.

And I'm dreaming this, but I feel like that, almost paralysed. You can't move, you can't come out. And as I'm looking at her, and I'm rubbing her knee like this, she went, "My skin." And I went...

And she smiled, and I woke up, and I woke up, and I was a little shook, but I was actually going like this. And I went, "My God, you gave me your skin in the way that you could." You know, I mean, but I really felt I touched her skin. 'Cause I had thought, you know, I haven't kissed your cheek, I haven't rubbed your hand, you know, I was thinking all that stuff in thirty years. That seems like so bizarre. And, but yeah, so she gave me that dream.

That's the only way. I mean, if they could do that every night, I'm sure they'd be doing it every night, you know. But you gotta take those beautiful, miraculous moments and let them, you know, give you that. Because I feel like I did touch her skin after that. I woke up and was like, my God, call my sister real quick. "Thanks for your knee." Now, if I had looked at her and saw my mother, I probably would have went, you know, but I didn't. I saw my sister, and then I put my hand on her knee in the dream and said, "Your skin is so soft." And it,

then I looked, and it was my mom. So she gave me a beautiful gift, and they're there for everybody.

Melanie Suzanne Wilson (1:19:51)

Absolutely. If someone is listening to this and has any amount of curiosity about all of this, I'm wondering if the step one to feeling more connected with purpose... I'm wondering if it is simply to pause and look within and

go beyond all the distractions that are around us, be it people's opinions, environments, anything. If there's one lesson that anyone, whether they are starting in all of this or further along, what's one lesson someone can wind up with after a listening to our conversation?

Beth Lynch (1:20:35)

Is, I think, to believe that it's, it will be possible faster than you think if you commit to just some daily devotion, some daily, you know, mindful thinking, loving who you are. If you feel... a lot of people will tell me, "I don't love myself." I'm so surprised at that. And I'm like, well, I guess I can remember back at a time where I didn't really understand that. I'm like, "But wake up and say, 'Today I choose to love me. I choose happy.'"

Make it a conscious statement, a clear, and what, and let the next few days unfold. Guarantee you're gonna feel something different. And I know you will. And you gotta take, you know, you gotta believe that you can, you have the power within to, you know, make these decisions and let certain things start falling away from you. Sometimes that's people, sometimes it's jobs, sometimes it's mindset. It's all of the above, probably, but there will also be things to bring,

you know, where you can resonate and feel happy and expressive, and as a spiritual and a human being, quit separating it. It's the whole problem of the world.
